Take part in an online Learning Alliance on accountability, transparency and good governance. We invite you to discuss how formal institutions, capacities and informal institutions shape horizontal accountability – through a lens that compares experiences in Latin America and Africa.

Applications are now open for our three month learning programme between Latin American and African policymakers, practitioners and researchers, offering:
- Knowledge of policy examples from Latin America and Africa, and an exchange of experiences from other countries, in relation to accountability, transparency and good governance
- Networking with parliamentarians and other public officials, practitioners, researchers and organisations working on similar challenges
- ELLA certificate on completion of the programme
- A study tour to Latin America for selected active members from Africa
This programme is designed for:
- People who are interested in learning and networking with peer experts, policy actors and practitioners on horizontal accountability
- Professionals who are interested in putting change into action as a result of the learning exchange
- People who have an interest in sharing their own practices while learning from other regions, networking with a group of peer experts, and have the time to engage actively in the discussions.

The Learning Alliance will be led and moderated by:
CIPPEC from Buenos Aires, Argentina and OSSREA from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will lead and moderate this online Learning Alliance.
CIPPEC is a pluralistic, independent institution, dedicated to research to inform public policy by forming links with actors from both civil society and government. CIPPEC researches three main areas, State and Government, Economic Development, and Social Development.
OSSREA (Organisation for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa) is an African think tank doing research and research capacity development in Eastern and Southern Africa. OSSREA researches challenges and opportunities in Eastern and Southern Africa on diverse social science issues, including economic, social, political, governance, gender and environmental themes.
How much does it cost to join?
There is no cost to join. We anticipate members will need to devote about two to three hours per week to the learning programme.
